Summer haul 2013

Hey Ladies!

Just a quick chat with you this morning as I gathered my new findings for summer 2013! Most of my products were in the liquidation bins at the drug store, so I had an amazing price for them. Actually how can you not buy a blush and a mascara for 2.50$, a good hairspray for 4.99$, my Marc Anthony hair night repair for 3$ at the dollar store!!! Say what ?!? Lol! Yes you heard me the dollar store, I was amazed by that and also shocked. 

 

Here are my summer findings for this summer (from left to right and bottom):

- Marc Anthony Be Ageless hair care line colour protect anti aging night repair ( love this product)

- Schwarzkopf got2b smooth operator smoothing hairspray

- Maybelline volum'express colossal mascara in  230 Glam black

- Maybelline Lash Stiletto voluptuous mascara in 971 very black and 981 very black waterproof

- Marcelle Nutrilux supreme repair lip balm ( this is amazing but sadly a limited edition)

- Quo eyebrow duo professionnal comb brush.

Polish favourites of summer 2013

Hi everybody, and welcome to my top nail polish picks for this summer! I managed to try out my picks though packing boxes, moving, the kids, organizing and unpacking lol. A big thank you to my amazing friends and family for their help and support during our move. 

So back to nails, I am really into bright colours lately, maybe because it has been rainy since summer arrived! I guess I needed a little sunshine :)

So here are my top picks Ladies:

- Estée Lauder, pure color Berry Hot (06)

- OPI Pink Flamingo

- Joe Fresh Fluo Blue

And the QUO product in the back, this is amazing. It's called manicure stones and you actually use them to push your cuticles and the stone will help to exfoliate the dead skin around your nails to make your manicure look perfect. 

My all-time favorite has been the OPI pink flamingo, the colour is absolutely gorgeous and it applies like magic on nails. Hope you will enjoy those colours as much as I do and have a great day:)

Keep it fresh and light, spring tutorial

Hello Ladies! I hope everyone is enjoying the scent of spring and the beautiful sun outside! I was so thrilled to see some of my flowers starting to bloom this week, and it also inspired me to do a spring makeup tutorial!

So let's get started Ladies!

Then fun starts lol!

I've tried a new cream eye shadow base from L.A. Splash in colour Aphrodite. 

I apply this as a base, to prevent my shadow from creasing and to give an extra glam to my eyes. 

My next step is this Pure colour eyeshadow from Estée Lauder in Ivory slipper (10). I apply this colour all over my lid. This colour seems white on the picture but it is more of a peachy pink satin colour.

Next, I apply a bit of a matte eyeshadow,  Estée Lauder's wild truffle (12). I apply this colour with a round crease blender brush for a subtle effect. 

To finalize my eyes, I wear a fine eyeliner and black mascara. 

For my lips, I used a pink lipgloss for a fesh spring look. The colour is from Estée Lauder, Shocking pink (42)

Hello Ladies and happy saturday! I hope you enjoyed your first week of sun and warm weather in a long time. I was getting all excited about it until my husband announced me that we were expecting another 25cm of snow on tuesday ( no!!!!!) :( Oh well, I guess my spring closet and makeup will be on hold for a couple of weeks again...

 

 

On a more positive note, I recently discovered a great product to fill in my eyebrows. I have been on the search for a product that could do the job for a low cost.

 

 

While shopping at Pharmaprix ( Shoppers Drug Mart), I discovered an amazing product that was in the sales bin for only 1$. Yes Ladies 1$!!!!! So I decided to give it a shot even if the brand was new to me. The brand is called Essence, and I only saw those products at Pharmaprix.

This is called the Stylist set from Essence. This product is amazing in so many ways. You have three stencils included to sculpt your brows and make them look perfect. The pigments are very natural, and you can really blend the colours together to match your eyebrow colour.

Use the stencil if needed, then use te right colour of powder to you brow line and blend it to make it look natural.

My last step is Maybelline's Great Lash clear mascara, to keep them looking perfect all day.

 I brush this clear mascara through my eyebrows and it keeps them in place all day.

Perfect foundation under the snowflakes

and happy snow day! Today, I wanted to share my winter foundation routine and tips on how to keep your skin looking flawless under the snow.

My first step, is liquid foundation. I don't apply any primer with this foundation, because the foundation itself works really well. I use the CLINIQUE EVEN BETTER foundation and I really love the fact that it is light, silky, smooth and it also has a SPF 15. I apply this foundation with my hands, and it's the best way I found to apply the product to keep a natural and smooth finish.

Then to set the foundation, I always apply a powder, and it keeps the makeup in place all day. This winter I really love the L'OREAL MINERAL LUMINIZING POWDER, in a pink translucent tone. It gives me the perfect glow for these snowy days, and also adds a perfect finish to my foundation. I apply this powder with a big powder brush for a natural effect.

With these products I don't need to do any touch ups during the day and my skin  looks flawless all day. I only touch up if I play in the snow with my kiddies :)

Today's post will be about keeping your lady-like lashes looking flawless. So keep your false lashes away for a while and start showing off your natural ladylashes:)





Step one: Always remove your makeup before going to bed.
This is the most important beauty step for keeping young, healthy and beautiful lashes. Keeping the old mascara overnight will make your lashes fall off easly and cause breakage.

step two : use a gentle and effecient eye makeup remover with a cotton pad, and rub gently the product to remove all of the makeup. If you use some waterproof liner or mascara, use an oil base eye makeup remover. I love the one from Clinique, take the day off, very gentle and does the job pertfectly.

step three : before bedtime use a lash serum to help your lashes grow longer and stronger. I love, the l'Oreal lash serum, use it like a liner with the tip and then put a coat of serum like using a mascara on your lashes.

step four : To finalise your makeup, mascara is a must. Don't forget to change it every 3 months to keep it clean. Then choose the colour of your choice to enhance your eyes. Put a mascara base before using your msscara, the base will nourish, hydrate and condition your lashes to keep them flawless. Then apply mascara, with a gentle zig zag movement to create more volume.

Nail polish review, Revlon Elegant (colour 380)

Hello Ladies, and welcome to my first nail polish review. This post is very exciting for me because I love nail polish. Trust me, I was a trainer for mani/pedi's at my last job, so I know alot about nails and how to work with them. 

So today's review is about Revlon's nail polish in colour Elegant (380). This is a new colour that i've purchased in the begining of winter, and I thought it was a beautiful, neutral colour to wear and the name of it is very reprentative, it looks absolutely elegant. 

I love this nail polish for so many reasons. The price is very cheap (only 3.99$ can on sale), the colour is stunning, can suit every skin tones, it lasts for a couple of days and it dries very quickly. 

The only con that I have about this polish, is that the brush is a little tricky for the colour. Because the colour is matte and beige, usualy the brush should be a little bit thicker and larger so you can cover a large part of your nail without moving the wet polish too much. The brush leaves a little bit of it's mark if you don't put enough polish on it. 

Here are the steps to follow to wear this polish like a pro:

1- The first coat: apply a thin layer of polish to cover your nails, and trust me it will look bad. Let dry.

2- The second coat: put a thicker coat of polish ( not too thick), and be careful to not use the brush over and over again on your nails, this will cause imperfections. Let dry.

3- Top coat: use a glossy top coat to make your nails elegant and glamorous. I love the CND top coat for a professionnal finishing touch!
